Terms and Conditions

Words to Music offers composers of musical works the opportunity to showcase their achievements / contact details / works free of charge on the Internet to a worldwide audience.

There is no charge for doing this, as we believe that it is in the interests of the musical community for composers to showcase their work and for audiences to have have their reviews published.

For our protection and yours, this offer is made subject to Terms and Conditions set out below.

In these Terms and Conditions, "we" means Words to Music, "you" means the submitter of the material to be displayed on the site, "the site" means 'Words to Music' and "material" means information on musical works, composers, bands, photographs.

2. General

We reserve the right to reject material on the grounds that it is not relevant to the content of the site, is illegal, sexually explicit, defamatory, libellous, promotes violence or promotes descrimination on the grounds of sex, age, race, religion, nationality or sexual orientation.

3. Ownership

All materials that are accepted are done so on the express understanding that you have suitable copyright and intellectual ownership of it and are therefore entitled to promote the material. Photographs are accepted on the express understanding that permission to display them on the site is freely given by the holder of the rights to that photograph. If any material is displayed in good faith and is subsequently found to be intellectual property of a third party, then we will remove the material from the site immediately. If a third party makes any claim in respect of material over which they alledge copyright, then we will remove the material immediately until copyright is clarified.

4. Limitation of Liability

We will not be liable in relation to material in contravention to clause 3 above displayed by us in good faith on the site, in respect of any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damages suffered, or any other complaint or action for unauthorised use of the material.

Although every effort will be made to ensure the site is continuously accessible through an operational server, we do not warrant continuous display of the site on the World Wide Web, nor accept any liability for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damages suffered through intermittent or interrupted display / accessibility.

Reviews and comments submitted are the opinions of their authors and not of us.

5. Display Parameters

We reserve the right to modify the style (not the meaning) of musicals / review / composer biography / comment copy submitted prior to posting on the site, in order to ensure it fits the overall style of the site itself. All material will be displayed in a typeface, background and layout determined by us.

We will display qualifying material for a minimum of six months from the date of first posting on the site. We reserve the right to remove material after that time unless expressly requested not to do so.

It is our intention to offer the most current material on the site. Any material found to be out of date by reference to a third party source (newspapers / other website, etc.) may be removed or updated by mutual agreement.

We reserve the right to add hotlinks to other areas of the site or to other sites on the World Wide Web relevant to the content of your material at the point of the insertion of your material on the site. Permission for links to other sites will be obtained from those sites where relevant prior to the hotlinks being added.

We will add to showcases of new musicals a copyright notice and disclaimer using the following text:
"©<Year> <Authors>. All rights reserved. No use of the image, title, music, lyrics, photographs or any other intellectual property relating to the show without express permission in writing. We will add to Lyrics submitted the following text: ©<Year> <Authors>. All rights reserved.

6. Warranties

We make no warranties, express or otherwise, as to the quality of the material showcased on this site.

You and we are independent contractors and it is expressly agreed that no agency, partnership, employment or joint venture is created under this agreement. Any liabilities past or future by either party are expressly excluded and each indemnifies the other against these.

8. Agreement

Submission of any material to the site expresly signifies your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

9. Scope

This agreement is goverened by the laws of the United Kingdom. Statutory rights unaffected.
